Bishop adds brawn to Bee Lady benefit

Jeff Bishop, the chef at Merende in downtown Tacoma, has thrown his talented toque into the ring and will compete in a soup cook-off that will benefit a South Sound farmer in need, adding culinary brawn to a tasty lineup


What: Best Fall Soup Blind Tasting and Silent Auction
When: Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009
Where: Sixth Ave. Farmers Market, Pine at 6th Avenue, Tacoma.
Time: 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Who judges: You do
Cost: $10

The Best Fall Soup Cook-Off fund-raiser at the 6th Ave. Farmers Market on Sept. 29 will feature several Tacoma restaurants using farmers market ingredients. For $10 you can be a judge and help the family of The Bee Lady, whose husband died last month, leaving behind a widow and seven children.
