Since I started my new job, I get to jump on a ferry once a week and visit the lovely Island of Vashon. Such an interesting Island, this Vashon – it is truly a community unto itself. Whether you live there full time or visit your second home on the weekend, there is always something creative happening courtesy of the many business owners and local artisans.
Speaking of which, my friend Stephen owner of The Vashon Wine Shop has started a new event series called the Vashon Vinum Veritas that showcases the Island’s passion for wine and the culinary arts. Participating stops include: Vashon Winery, Palouse, Seabreeze La Boucherie, Vashon Wine Shop, The Hardware Store, Gusto Girls, The Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Museum and The Blue Heron Arts Center.
